Hello my loves,
never has the layering look looked as cool as this season, right? But I keep getting questions where fashionistas ask me how the layering look works, which always looks so perfect on the blog. Because before in the own mirror, this reminds rather of the good old onion look.
Layering Look: Why is that?
During the cold winter months, I mainly focus on the layering look and often combine this with a sheepskin look like this one from 1.2.3 Paris. The problem is that it is not enough just to pull two or three parts of different lengths over each other. To make the layering look perfect this season, just follow my styling rules.
Layering Look Tip 1: Defines the silhouette
For a layering look to succeed perfectly, an important question must be answered: Which silhouette should be created – voluminous at the top or rather at the bottom? Should it hide the hips, should the strong arms disappear or is it about emphasizing the legs?
If you want to wear a tight pair of jeans, then an XL knit sweater or longer cardigan will fit under an even longer blouse.
Layering Look Tips 2: Mix and match correctly
The important thing is that you use a lot of different materials, because too much of one looks boring! You can combine jeans or coarse wool super with fine fabrics, such as silk or chiffon. A sexy lace dress on the other hand looks cool under a hoodie.
However, beware of fur, leather and materials in gold or silver, because this can make your layering outfit very quickly overloaded or pretentious.
Layering Look Tip 3: Less is more
In the case of a layering look, at least two and max. five parts can be used for it. For every garment remains an eye-catcher on its own, and it does not appear that a dress-up competition has taken place.
Layering Look Tip 4: Stay “clean”
Basically, I use more subtle tones when choosing colors, such as beige and cream. But even darker tones, such as gray, can look very noble. I like to use my combination: Layering look with a cream-colored coat in lambskin look from 1.2.3 Paris.
Layering Look Tip 5: over and over
What I particularly like about the layering look is that it is possible to hide even small problem areas. The combination of a long sweater and dress underneath is great for hiding the bottom. Wearing a blouse with XL cuffs and under a bomber jacket is ideal if your arms are not that ideal.
